Using Instagram from your computer but can’t post photos on your profile? Thanks to these tips, share your publications from your Windows
Instagram has quickly become one of the most popular social networks. With 1 billion active users per month, the audience on Instagram is considerable.
Thanks to this platform, you will share moments of your life and your most beautiful pictures with the rest of the world.
Mainly used on smartphones, it is also accessible on your computer via its web interface or an application, however, it is much less developed there.
Indeed, it is not as intuitive and does not offer the same options as the mobile app. Officially, you will not be able to post photos or stories or create albums and you will not have access to messaging.
To work around the problem and thus take full advantage of desktop use, alternatives have been created. In this article, we offer two tips so that you can finally post photos to your account from a PC.
Using Instagram On PC
First of all, to access the web version of Instagram, you just need to do a search for Instagram.com on the internet, from your PC.
Although there are some functions identical to those of the mobile application (comments, likes, search…), the very essence of this social network is missing, the Publish a photo functionality. Without it, it is impossible to post new publications on the platform.
In fact, as soon as you log into your account from your computer, the first page displays your photo feed with the three icons, Explore, Notifications, and Profile at the top right.
With options, you can navigate between different profiles or return to your photos already posted from your smartphone. However, you will have no way to edit them or add new ones to your feed.
Post Photos To Instagram From PC
You might find it impossible to post photos to Instagram from its website or Windows app, yet there’s nothing stopping you from getting around the problem by using a third-party tool.
There are applications to extend the functionality of Instagram on Windows. One of them is a Chrome extension known as User-Agent Switcher.
This tool allows you to change the user agent of your computer while you are browsing. Indeed, while you browse from your PC, User-Agent Switcher allows you to benefit from a connection as if you were on your smartphone.
On the Microsoft Store, it is possible to download a version of the Instagram application designed for the computer. However, the problem remains the same, you will not be able to share content on your Instagram account.
Thus, as on the mobile application, you will be able to share your photos and publish new posts thanks to its Publish a photo function.
To get it, go to the Chrome Web Store and add it to your Chrome browser. Once installed, you will just have to click on the black mask icon on the right of your navigation bar and to choose between several user agents such as iOS or Android.
Also, if you want, you can download Vivaldi for free on your Windows. It is a customizable browser that allows you to simulate the mobile application on your PC.
installed, its use is quick and easy:
- Go to instagram.com through Vivaldi and log into your account.
- Click on the + icon then on the Add Web Panel option. The mobile version of Instagram should now appear on the left of your screen.
